The Austin Allergy Machine line up is best suited for use in high humidity or damp environments. Instead of the standard granular activated carbon that’s found in the other Austin air purifiers, the Allergy Machines use activated carbon cloth in its place. This material was developed by the British military for use in their gas masks and is often used today in air pollution masks. In humid environments, activated carbon cloth withstands moisture much better than granular activated carbon and is best suited to areas such as damp basements or commercial kitchens.
